Current Role

Head of Finance & Investment, Ghana Commodity Exchange

Senior management team member since the Exchange's implementation in January 2018.

Albert Nii Ayi Tagoe is an award winning finance professional and Chartered Global Management Accountant, and the author of “How to Raise Capital for Your Start up Business” and “Money Health”. He has translated more than a decade of experience in financial management into books, masterclasses and advisory work that are changing how a generation relates to money.

At the Ghana Commodity Exchange he built a robust finance and control unit, covering financial reporting, analysis, budgeting and projections, treasury, investment, audit, financial controls and taxation. He leads engagement with financial institutions under the Warehouse Receipt and Aggregation Financing programme, where commodities serve as collateral to unlock financing for smallholder farmers, and he sits on financing and investment committees guiding the Exchange's growth.

He contributed to Ghana's first Warehouse Receipt Financing Bill and to a Ministry of Finance committee shaping agricultural financing strategy through a cabinet paper. Before GCX, he spent seven years with Stanbic Bank Ghana in credit risk management and banking operations.

Albert holds a passion for leadership, reading, creative writing and social impact, and mentors university graduates and young professionals across his trainings and presentations.
